As expected, the release of Halo Reach on September 14, 2010 was a huge hit, grossing more than $200 million on the launch night, a new record for the video game series. We also hear that there was a surge in kids missing school the next day and even grown ups calling in "sick" from staying up to 12pm to buy the game and then all night glued to the screen. With the success of this installment of the Halo franchise, there is no doubt that Halloween costumes based on the main characters will be highly sought after this year.
Halo fans know how the story ends, but this prequel to the series explains how it all starts. This video game takes place more than 500 years from now and society is at war with the alien Covenant on the human colony of Reach. The player takes on the role of Noble 4, an unnamed new addition to the Noble Team, part of the elite supersoilders known as the Spartans. Other characters in the role-playing game include the Noble Team leader, Carter A259 and his bionic-armed sidekick, Kat-B320. Other members of the Noble team include heavy weapons specialist Jorge-052, Emile-A239, and marksman Jun-A266.
Official Halo Reach costumes are not out in stores that we know of yet, but the recent unveiling of this video game has spurred on great interest in older "Halo 3" costumes from previous years. You can get Halloween costumes of the character Master Chief that range from economy versions to deluxe versions costing hundreds of dollars - for a diehard fan! Gamers who enjoy taking on brutal alien invaders will feel ready for anything dressed up in a Halo 3 costume - or maybe a DIY Halo Reach costume. Add great costume accessories to your Halo costumes such as boots, masks and, of course, some fierce toy weapons.
